Airbus has rolled out from cabin furnishing & engine installation the first A350-900 XWB for China Airlines (CAL). The aircraft is prepared for customary tests before delivery.
The aircraft registered F-WZGV (B-18901 • MSN 049) is the first of fourteen A359 aircraft on order, and it is expected to be used on the airlines’ long-haul routes to Europe and on popular regional routes. The A350-900 will join China Airlines’ other Airbus fleet which consists of twenty-four A330s and four A340s on its regional and long haul services.
China Airlines has said that the jetliner will feature the airline’s plum blossom logo on the tail and a seating capacity of 306 — 32 in business class, 31 in premium economy, and 243 in economy.
The first A350-900 was scheduled to be delivered to CAL in July, and three others by the end of the year. However because of delays related to the backlog of aircraft ready to enter cabin completion stations on the final assembly line in Toulouse, Airbus has changed the delivery date and is expected to be by the end of September. As well as the A350XWB, Airbus has been experiencing difficulties with their A320neo, only Lufthansa, GoAir, IndiGo and Pegasus Airlines taking delivery of A320neos
Delta Air Lines A330-300 – well this flew over my home so that’s where I saw it!
Didn’t see it but I heard that Turkish Airlines put TC-LNA on their morning departure TK1976 – an A332!!! 😀 . They will put another A332 on the afternoon departure on Sunday the 4th 🙂 . Rumour has it that Swissport is preparing to handle TK A330’s.. dunno why they need to prepare! However, to twist the plot, as a part of a larger network frequency cut, they will decrease their frequency here in Dublin from 14 weekly (double daily) to 10 weekly (one daily flight and then another flight that operates three times a week) during Winter 2016/17. Could people that are loyal to Turkish continue to fly TK and as a result they’ll switch from 739’s up to A332’s. I don’t know but I do hope that I get a chance to be on a TK A330! Then again, I also sort of want them to keep their double daily flights. I will post about their network frequency cut shortly!
All Nippon Airways has taken delivery of their fiftieth Boeing 787 Dreamliner. During a ceremony held at Boeing’s Everett Delivery Centre, Boeing gave ANA its fiftieth Dreamliner, a 787-9 registered JA882A (c/n 43872).

ANA became the 787 launch customer in 2004 when it purchased 50 aircraft and in 2011, seven years later, it was the first airline to take delivery of this revolutionary aircraft. ANA’s current fleet consists of 36 787-8s and 14 -9s and also having another 33 Dreamliners still on order, including the newest and longest member of the Dreamliner family, the 787-10.
Beijing Capital Airlines, a leisure airline that is a subsidiary of Hainan Airlines founded in 2010 will begin flying to Vancouver on the second last day of the year, the 30th of December 2016. They will be using their Airbus A330 aircraft on this route. The A330 is their only wide-body aircraft and they currently operate the A330-200 and they have one A330-300 on order. At the moment, Capital Airlines operates out of Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenyang and Xi’an as its primary bases.
They will operate the route three times a week from Hangzhou to Vancouver via Qingdao according to the Vancouver Airport Authority. This will be Capital Airlines’ first destination in North America. Here is what the president and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority, Craig Richmond had to say:

Three other airlines – China Airlines and Cathay Pacific fly from Hong Kong to Vancouver while EVA Air flies from Taipei to Vancouver.
The second US-built US A321 has been delivered to American Airlines. A ceremony was held at the company’s property located in Mobile, Alabama. Present during the occasion were executives from Airbus and American Airlines and representatives of the more than 350 employees at the facility.
The Mobile Final Assembly Line is commited to the production of Airbus narrowbodies for customers in North America. So far, only A321 with the Current Engine Option (CEO) but Enhance – so equipped with sharklets, will be assembled in the foreseeable future, five for American Airlines and one for Spirit, and it will begin transitioning to New Engine Option (NEO) descendants in late 2017.

Airbus is planning on increasing the production rate to 52 aircraft per month by 2018, and to 60 aircraft before 2020, supported by its final production lines in Germany, France, China, and the Alabama assembly line in the United States.
