Hybrid airships are the modern versions of the ones that briefly flew in the 1930’s. These aircraft are able to fly without crew for an astonishing three weeks. By the end of this decade, Dubai-based company, Airships Arabia are expected to have bought two of these. One is the Lockheed Martin’s Hybrid Airship. It will have 10 feet x 10 feet x 60 feet cargo bay, able to carry 21 tonne payloads and nineteen passengers. The other one, the British Airlander 10, manufactured by Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) has a smaller payload of 10 tonnes and the ability to carry 48 passengers. HAV plan on making a bigger Airlander 50 with a payload of 50 tonnes.
